2012 Gewürztraminer

(not eligible for discounts)

This is our first vintage of Gewürztraminer.  The grapes all come from the Russian River Valley vineyard that has provided our Viognier for the last few years.  The wine is 100% Gewürztraminer.  Bill loves to experiment in the Praxis line with different varietals.  Our Gewürztraminer is made in a crisp, dry style.

To retain the purest expression of the grapes, the wine was fermented in stainless steel with no oak contact.  The color is very pale straw with hints of green.  Aromas of flowers and lychee are immediately present while hints of spice follow more delicately.   The wine is soft and elegant with nice weight.  The floral and fruits are repeated on the palate.  Although the wine is dry, there is a note of honey on the finish.
