Current Vintage

2007 Praxis Dry Syrah Rose
Current Vintage
The wine is a beautiful salmon color with a floral, strawberry nose. Flavors of strawberry, watermelon and guava are accented by a little spice and vanilla. The wine is dry and has bright acidity with a medium body.

2005 Praxis Merlot
Current Vintage
The grapes for this wine again come from a vineyard on a rise in the heart of Alexander Valley. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 18 months in predominantly American oak barrels. Bill finds that the American barrels complement the varietal characteristics of Merlot in a special way.

2006 Praxis Pinot Noir Monterey
Current Vintage
This is our sixth vintage of Pinot Noir and our second from this vineyard in Monterey. The color is a deep garnet hue with purple overtones. The wine brims with aromas of bing cherries, ripe plums, black currant, cola and vanilla.

2006 Praxis Viognier Lodi
Current Vintage
This is our fifth vintage from the same vineyard in Lodi. Although we are a Sonoma County winery, the warmth of the growing conditions there are closer to the climatic conditions of the Southern Rhone Valley in France. Bill feels the Viognier grapes need more heat than we can get in Sonoma County to fully develop their varietal characteristics. He selected the Geneva clone of Viognier which imparts less floral aroma and more flavors of peaches and apricot to the wine. The wine was fermented in stainless steel to retain the purest expression of the grapes.

2005 Praxis Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma County
Current Vintage
The grapes for this wine come from the cooler part of Sonoma County – the confluence of the Alexander Valley and the Russian River Valley. The cooler climate here accentuates the crisp, bright green apple characteristics of the varietal without overpowering the floral aromas and flavors of pears and citrus.
