Our Wines / 2008 Praxis Dry Rose
“Light salmon pink, cherry, bright subtle layers” Dick Rosano, WAMU radio Feb 2010
In the spirit of Praxis where practice makes perfect, Bill gets to play a little as a winemaker. He had not made a rose for over twenty years, but wanted to explore the style again. The Syrah grapes are from the heart of the Alexander Valley; the same vineyard where we source our Merlot.
The grapes for this second vintage of Syrah Rose were slightly riper than our 2007 grapes creating a wine that is fuller and richer. The wine is a beautiful salmon color with a floral, strawberry nose. Flavors of strawberry, watermelon and guava are accented by a little spice and vanilla. The wine is dry and has bright acidity with a medium body.
