Our Wines / 2003 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Silver Medal Houston Rodeo Wine Competition 2008 Wine Enthusiast December 15, 2007 “On a par with recent vintages, this Cab is soft and pleasant, with ripe cherry, blackberry, raspberry and herb flavors that are well oaked” Arbios Cellars focuses on a single Bordeaux-style red wine, made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on a mountain top vineyard in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County. The Arbios Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted in classic Bordeaux-style to have moderate alcohol and good fruit character. Winemaker and owner Bill Arbios likes to be “honest” with the fruit avoiding overripe characteristics. Although Bill has a successful track record crafting blended wines, he now prefers the additional challenges and artistry that go into making wine from a single vineyard. Placing the emphasis on terroir, Bill believes in honoring the character of the fruit without over-manipulating the wine. | Varietal Composition: | 100% Cabernet Sauvignon | | Appellation: | Alexander Valley | | Months in Oak: | 24 | | Alcohol: | 14.2% | | pH: | 3.62 | | Brix at harvest : | 24.2 | | % Malolactic: | 100% | | Type of Oak: | French | | TA (g/100ml): | 0.61 | | Residual Sugar: | 0.02 | | Type of Oak: | French | | Winemaker: | Bill Arbios | | Production: | 1300 cases | | Size: | 750ml and 3L |
